The Joy Of A Big Brother

The Joy Of A Big Brother The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseSince baby Jacobs arrival it has been very clear that Joshua is totally and utterly in love with his baby brother and over the last 8 months I have had the pleasure of watching that brotherly bond growing.

Over the first few months the bond was one-sided however the last few months as Jacob has grown that bond has certainly become a two-way thing.

Jacob likes nothing more than sitting with his brother trying to talk to him and following him around the room with his eyes if he leaves his vicinity.

It’s funny watching Jacob vocalising and trying to talk to his brother and Joshua just accepting his garble as chatter and chats back to him ten to the dozen, almost like they have their own language.

Joshua is starting to think about Jacob first and foremost, like when he is playing sat up on the carpet and he rushes to bring cushions just in case he falls backwards. Or the way he brings wipes and nappies and is very insistent you must change Jacobs nappy right now.

It really is such an honour to be sat on the sidelines seeing this bond grow each and every day, to watch the little facial expressions of Jacob when he realises that his brother is in the room or looking for him when he can hear his voice but not yet see him.

After discovering we were pregnant and sharing that news with Joshua he was excited from the off but the first few months after Jacob arrive it was really boring to him but now he has finally discovering what its like to be a big brother and he is loving it!

I knew he would make an excellent big brother but he is beyond my expectations in every way and I am so very proud.

What a wonderful bond they have. It is lovely to see two brothers bond and grow, they grow to be such good friends and it’s nice to share the same stuff and interests. My two make my heart swell. xx
