*Advertorial Feature With Johnson’s Baby*

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I am a Johnson’s Baby Ambassador and its a role that has been really interesting for as a parent to take on.
Over the last 14-15 months I have discovered so much about one of the worlds iconic baby and parenting brands. We have chatted and discussed ingredients. I have learnt so much about what actually goes into some of my love loved and adored baby toiletries.
It has been an epic journey of discovery.
My Parenting Journey
As part of this fabulous journey of discovery I have been able to look at my own parenting style for not only my youngest 2 but also for my eldest, who is 18 years old.
Becoming a parent at 21 was a body shocker of a learning curve. I became a single parent fairly swiftly after she was born due to domestic violence and I had to learn on the fly what parenting was all about.
The first few years were difficult because of so many reasons but I discovered with baby number 2 (10 years later ) and then baby number 3 (5 years after that) that no matter what circumstances you find yourself in. As a parent you want to do everything in your power to provide for your child, keep them safe and give them the best start possible.
Generational Parenting Differences
I had a 10 year gap from child 1 to 2 and I honestly can’t believe how much changed. In the early 00’s when I had my daughter it was common to be super tight on balancing every single aspect of her life. I was what they refer to as a helicopter parent with her.
With the boys and a decade of time between first and second child I have been much more laid back. I have accepted the world is a different place altogether. Don’t get me wrong I have still actively made sure that my boys have been safe and well. I have however concentrated making sure I bring up balanced and independent children in a different way to my first child.
Making Changes To Support Parenting Now
Johnsons Baby products have been on our shelves in the same distinctive packaging for many many decades. I have loved the products myself for over 18 years. However Johnson’s Baby has been listening to parents near and far and have massively overhauled their iconic range.
Still the same beautifully scented products but now they are all now dye-free in coloured packaging instead. The range has over 98% naturally derived ingredients and it has reduced the number of ingredients in their global portfolio by up to 50%. Meaning if an ingredient wasn’t truly necessary, they removed it, meaning less is more.

I love the ideas in the range to use the most gentlest of product, like real cotton in the Cottontouch range to make sure the products offer super softness for delicate skin.
Parenting I believe is the hardest job on the planet, physically, mentally and emotionally and I am glad that times change. I am in favour of learning as a parent and I am OK with knowing I won’t always get every aspect of parenting right.
I am also OK knowing that I may never be the perfect parent but I am doing my best and making changes as I go to try and get it right.
