Nottingham Pick Your Own Pumpkins

Nottingham Pick Your Own Pumpkins The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseAs a family we don’t tend to have too many traditions as a rule in fact I could probably mentions about 12 things we religiously do as a family each year. Finding time has always been an issue but also at this point in the year we are starting to ramp up for Christmas not Halloween as I don’t actually like Halloween and trick or treating… But thats a whole other story.

Nottingham Pick Your Own Pumpkins The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseFor the last few years i have been waiting to have surgical procedure carried out in hospital and after 5 cancellations I was finally given a last minute appointment with 3 days notice last week.

Having this procedure smack in the middle of the half term holidays was not ideal by any stretch of the imagination but with help from family with the kids and some amazing offers of help that first week was made much easier. However 4 days after I was literally going stir crazy on my own in the house.

Nottingham Pick Your Own Pumpkins The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThose people that know me personally know that I have sit down and normally I don’t get longer than a few hours in the house at any one time unless I am sleeping. So after discharge from the hospital I had been solidly in the house for 3 days.

Ollie and the kids had planned to carry on our annual pumpkin picking outing as normal but I decided I need to get out there too.

Not really wise as I was still a little shaky but the fresh air was so so good.

Nottingham Pick Your Own Pumpkins The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseJoshua has been pumpkin picking for around 9 years now and Jacob has been pumpkin picking every year since he was born. Although we don’t do anything really related to Halloween we do pick pumpkins to make homemade soup which Ollie and Joshua LOVE and then they decorate their pumpkin remnants and put them in the back garden for a few days.

We have been really lucky here in Nottinghamshire with a wonderful family run farm that hosts a pick your own field for the pumpkins and even better is the fact that they don’t charge for entering the field like some others do. They charge for the pumpkins you purchase only. If you are looking for somewhere in Nottinghamshire I can’t recommend Nottinghamshire Pick Your Own Pumpkins enough.

Nottingham Pick Your Own Pumpkins The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseAlthough this years pumpkin picking session was probably shortest session we have ever had it was important for me to get outside and also to engage with the kids doing something fun.

Nottingham Pick Your Own Pumpkins The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseI have been immensely stressed recently with finances and bills that we have done nothing really as a family for a while.

Nottingham Pick Your Own Pumpkins The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThis I have promised will not be the case going forward. I am now planning some days out at the weekend and spending more time together even at home doing fun things.

I am so pleased that I have finally had the much awaited procedure carried out even if it didn’t really go to plan and more surgery will be needed. I am just glad that we are moving forward.

Christmas will soon be upon us and I intend to celebrate it to its fullest.

Nottingham Pick Your Own Pumpkins The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseWhat traditions do you and your family follow every year?
