Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress Review #AD

Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress Review #AD The Oliver\\\'s Madhouse

I have been keeping a secret ….

For a little while I have been lucky to be reviewing the Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress.

It has been probably nearly 10 years since we updated out previous mattress and for the last 12 months, we have had an ongoing battle with neither of us liking any mattresses we have tried.

Yes, that’s right we have been to couple that has jumped on a showroom mattress wherever we have been and then spent the remainder of the visit arguing about which was better. Then never agreeing so then never ordering one.

My husband and I sleep very differently. With me being a side sleeper and him being a back sleeper and me being on the heavier side. Our mattress must fit both of our sleeping styles and accommodate my weight.

Add into the mix that I am fully menopausal, hot, achy, and irritable where any degree of sleep is concerned. Along with carrying a medical condition of my hips and pelvis that means my pelvis is unstable.

So, a while ago I was asked if I would like to like to test out the Origin Hybrid Pro mattress and we jumped at the chance after checking it out online.

The Origin Hybrid Pro contains 8 premium layers:

Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress Review #AD The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseLayer one: Polarsilk Tencel
This is super soft and silky – This layer adds to an extra cooling element to the touch.

Layer two: Graphite Crystal Latex
This layer is designed to assist in again keeping the body cool and carrying extra heat deeper into the mattress

Layer three: Hexagrid Plus
Hexagrid plus is designed and used to add extra support along offering more pressure relief and add an extra of helping to cool the mattress and the sleeper.

Layer four: Bamboo
Is an organic, responsibly-sourced materials. All hand-picked to enhance sleep comfort. Micro-threaded to increase air flow & breathability though-out the mattress

Layer five: ErgoCoil Steel MicroSprings
These are made from premium-quality, high-tensile steel. Each microspring is individually encased in a soft, breathable fabric pocket for a hyper-responsive layer that responds to your sleeping position and movement

Layer six: Cooling Comfort Foam
The cooling comfort foam is an open-cell foam that is packed with cooling gel particles. This is another layer that helps transfer heat away from the body, provide support and helps stop motion transfer between sleepers.

Layer seven: Aerospace-Grade Titanium Springs
These springs are aerospace grade springs that are all coiled at different tensions across the mattress to provide maximum support for the body.

Layer eight: D-3 Edge Support
This is a denser foam than normal foam that will increase the area of the mattress and supports you when getting in and out of bed.

On arrival

I am not going to lie. I had been incredibly excited waiting for this mattress arrived. On the day of delivery, I got a text message with a 2 hour time slot on it and then 30 minutes before delivery the two person crew called to say they were on the way.

I was asked where I wanted it delivering it too. I just said the kitchen as that was the easiest for them to unload. They took a photo and left.

I then stripped and moved out old, outdated mattress to prepare for this beauty to replace it. So when my husband got home we attempted to get it upstairs. Our chosen mattress was a king size and I have to say it was heavy! it was a definite 2-person job to get it upstairs and on the bed frame. At this point I kicked myself for not asking it could have been delivered upstairs.

Unpacking

Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress Review #AD The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThe Origin Hybrid Pro mattress came vacuum sealed plastic and once punctured the plastic allows air into the mattress and it unrolls.

After a short period of time it reached fully plumped and I got to take a look at the mattress in all its glory.

Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress Review #AD The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThe mattress height is 31 cms so it was a nice thickness to fit in the frame but also allowed deep box fitted sheets to fit on the mattress well without slipping off the mattress when in use.

The cloud like top layer was lush. It had a really sumptuous feeling and you can clearly see the air holes in the top that allows a regular airflow to help with body heat circulation.

Using The Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress

During our first night using this mattress having previously used a solid foam mattress we noticed more movement than we were used to. However there was absolutely no roll together when one of us moved. During any movement I felt totally held in position and there were no extreme dips or bends in the mattress.

Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress Review #AD The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseMy normal morning wake up has always been in extreme pain due to my medical condition with my pelvis. However the first morning after using the Origin Hybrid Pro my lumbar spine and pelvis were nowhere near as painful as previously encountered. Yes there was still pain as thats the nature of my condition. However, I was thrilled with the minimal pain I was in! The quality of sleep I had and the reduction in pain has honestly been amazing.

Conclusion

Over the last 2 weeks I have been waiting for things to change in terms of my views. However, if anything they have got better. I am normally so hot at night suffering with hot flushes. These have still be occurring but these are more manageable than previously as this mattress doesn’t seem to be as hot as my last one. Obviously these flushes are not going away anytime soon and nothing will make them disappear but anything that can make it more tolerable is a bonus in my book.

Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress Review #AD The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseI am now enjoying going to bed and feel well rested when I wake up.

According to my iWatch i am experiencing more episodes of deep sleep and less awake periods than I had done previously with my old mattress. This has impacted on my day to day life with more concentration and more energy.

So far the Origin Hybrid Pro mattress has been a hit! For a king size mattress it retails at £1434 and it also offers a 200 day money back guarantee which is longer than some of its competitors (*T’s & C’s available on the website)

The only slight criticism from me is that they only offer this in 5 standard UK sizes but don’t offer a a small double. It would be nice to see a UK small double size in their range going forward as we need to replace our sons!
