I have to be honest and say I am shocked that we are already into 2018, I seem to have blinked and missed practically all of December.
This year family time is paramount for us and we are intending to make the most of every second if it.
Next week Jacob is starting 2 days at nursery to allow me to finally take charge of the work/home balance and with it I am hoping it will bring more free family time so ensuring we have lots of things planned for it is a must.

Obviously finding things to do as a family that are also free and might sound run of the mill and boring are going to be on there too as family time isn’t just about the big cost days out.
So heres hoping that 2018 brings us lots of family time and hopefully many of the activities below.
- Den Building
- Strawberry Picking
- Visiting A Castle
- Having A Water Fight
- Visiting Thomas Land
- Garden Picnic
- Visit Blackpool
- Rockpooling
- Camping
- Building Sandcastles
- Visit York
- Flying Kites
- Visit Dovedale (Peak District)
- Visit Wales
- Pumpkin Picking
- Play Mini Golf
- Visit Crich Tramway Museum
- Stay in Matlock to view the illuminations
- Feed The Ducks
- Visit Yorkshire Wildlife Park
I am under no illusion that life might have its own agenda but its nice to think that we might get some of these things ticked off our family activity bucket list.
This year I am looking forward to getting my work/home life balance back on track and to finally start living life with the kids instead of feeling like I am just treading water with all the things that seem to crop up week in, week out.
I obviously won’t be stepping too far away from the day to day routine but I am going to be using a more balanced routine to help me create some much needed family time instead.

So what would be on your family activity bucket list for this year? What burning activity would you like to do as a family?
OMG we’ve chatted about the starting of nursery so much over the past year but I can’t believe it’s come around so quickly.
I’m sure he will love it x
How can that little man of yours be going to nursery already! Your bucket list sounds great, I hope you get loads of things ticked off.
On my bucket list for 2018 would be crabbing – think you call it rockpooling – such a great activity and one I have fond memories of as a child myself!!!
