If you have followed me for a while you will know that I found a new love for nails and beauty around 2 years ago and it has allowed me to fulfil the work side of me that was missing… People.
Working online on my social media accounts and blog has been immensely fulfilling but it left a small gap. That you only get with real people, real conversations and even real laughter.
Leaning nails and beauty has allowed me to keep my blog and social accounts but use some of that time to develop the passion I have for making people happy with beauty and nail treatments. While I have thrived with adult company and learning something new.

Developing both my blog and my beauty business has been a learning curve. Initially I set up an office in a space bedroom and have used that for the clients that come here for nails but its not accessible for anyone that struggles with stairs and it doesn’t fit in my beauty couch so many of my treatments have to be done mobile and I have to lug the bed with me.
Over the last 6 months Ollie and I have been starting to discuss the possibility of moving my office into a room in the garden and adding enough space that I can do all my nail and beauty treatments in it too.
We have allocated a space ready for it and started looking at what we are going to build in it. Initially I toyed with the idea of doing up a portakabin but with the extra costs of lifting it over the house to install it and the lack of options on the width Ollie and I decided a custom build would have to be the way to go.
This weekend we finally measured up the space we need and chosen the windows and doors along with layout we wanted and have sent of the requirements to fab company to get a final quote on our insulated building.
I have to sort out all the legalities and to double check building regulations but its all doable!
Then it’s all about saving up hard for a while to be able to fund the build.
I am excited to finally know that both my business’ are going to feature in my future and that there will be a dedicated space I can go off to work in everyday and somewhere I can shut at the end of the day and be able to shut off work (both of them) to give me a better work home balance.
So keep your eyes peeled as I hope to document my journey bringing a better work life balance to my life in a dedicated space.
It all sounds very exciting, Jaime 🙂
My studio/office is in our garage and whilst I love having the dedicated space, it gets freezing in there and the cost of heating it is getting a bit too high so we need to find a cheaper solution.
I’ll be keeping my eye for your updates!
Love the office Jaime, may need to set one up myself. Could imagine myself working in something as gawjus as that.
