*Advertorial Feature With Reima*
If you have followed me for a while you will know that I love good quality things and the only thing I love more than that is something that can multi task.
Jackets & Coats
Over the last few years we have been introduced to so many great quality coats and jackets from Reima, the Finnish outdoor clothing brand.
This year however we have been shown that the brand is not just for the bad weather but are in fact amazing in all weathers and with so many of their offerings being able to multitask making them ideal for our active family and even our camping adventures.
With many camping trips and masses of family days out we have been able to really put some of the clothing through the real life riggers of kid life.
The boys have test driven several coats this season. From lightweight spring jackets to 3 in 1 offerings not to mention full on waterproofs. Obviously these have catered for all weathers and some of the jackets can cater for all weathers.
We have loved the detailing in all the jackets on offer. From reflective strips to tapered seams and many of them are not only waterproof but durable and breathable too. Another winning list of features that the jackets seem to be packed with are adjustable waists and cuffs and detachable hoods. No matter if they are boys or girls there are a massive array of colour and pattern options all of which would wow no matter if it was ski slopes or school yards.
Summer Clothing
This summer we were introduced to a whole new range for us that we didnt know Reima sold and I am immensely glad we were. The Reima Xylitol cool fabric has a finishing treatment that gives a cool sensation against the skin. The actual temperature drop is from 1 to 3 °C, and is activated by the body moisture, after 10 minutes of use and was ideal for this super hot weather we have been having intermittently.
The toddler T-shirts have also been ideal with lightweight fabrics and even some with easy access neckline that has helped dress even the stickiest toddler.
Sun Protection Clothing
This range was one that again was totally new to me. The beach wear range has been our most used items of clothing over the last few months (thankfully, after all no one really wants rain in the summer)
The range of sun protection clothing was great with so many options from tots to teens. Each item of clothing had lots of colour and pattern options so there is something for everyone.
Jacob adored his little sun suits with their long zips to allow for easy access and with 3/4 length arms and legs they gave maximum coverage.
Joshua loved the shirts and shorts combos. At 8 we found he wasn’t keen on any kind of all in one so these tops and shorts were a perfect compromise as they looked so grown up without loosing any coverage.
I am going to be super keen to see what they have on offer next year in terms of sun protection clothing as the boys have practically lived in these and they have washed and worn well.
Reima also protected the boys eyes this summer too with their super glasses. These were without a doubt an amazing hit. Both boys were happy to wear them, which makes a massive change.
Footwear
This spring and summer we have tried several offerings from Reima and been thrilled at every turn. From the substantial winter boots to the summer slip ons. The ease of access for getting on and off has been really well thought out and with immense tread on the winter boots and lighter soles for those sunnier options.
This winter we are looking for more boots for the boys and will be making sure Reima are our first port of call.
Waterproofs
Well, we can’t always get glorious sunshine and Reima have a super range of waterproof options from tot to teen.
Jacob adored his waterproof dungarees, meaning even the muddiest puddle was not left un splashed! Joshua however has been loving his Reima waterproof trousers for many years. I have been buying them for him for years for his School’s Forest School classes once a week. This newest set is no different, they are hard wearing and super comfortable and they have given me peace of mind that even on the wettest days he will stay dry – and when it snows they are great over the top of his normal clothing to keep him even warmer and drier!
