Review: Drayton Manor Theme Park & Thomas Land

Review: Drayton Manor Theme Park & Thomas Land The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseWe were recently given the opportunity to go and visit Drayton Manor Theme Park and we were all really excited … we had never visited before so it was going to a brand new experience.

On arriving I was pleased at how well signposted it was and also the fact there was no massive massive queue when we arrived as there were plenty of people on the tills and gates.

The girls (Beth and her friend) headed to the big rides first, however we headed straight to the  Zoo and we were blown away with some utterly beautiful creatures and not only that there was a lovely range of types of animals too!
Review: Drayton Manor Theme Park & Thomas Land The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseNext was Thomas Land .. this was the one that Joshua was most looking forward too. I have to say WOW .. my expectation had been that it would be really cheesy … I was wrong it was so beautifully thought out and the attention to details was fantastic.

Joshua was terrified of the rocking tug but he LOVED Jeremy’s Flying Academy, Harolds Heli Tours, Diesels Locomotion Meyhem to name just a few!

All the rides were really well thought out to allow adult passengers to ride with their mini’s so it made for stress free rides!

For lunch we couldn’t decided what we wanted from Fish & Chips to Pizza, Chicken or Burgers. The girls not wanting to be seen with the foggies (well everyone over 20 is a foggie to a 13 year old aren’t they!) So the girls headed off for Chicken and we went off for Burgers.

First off I have to say the price was far less than I had anticipated £6.45 for a meal for one and approx £22 for a family deal – Now I don’t know about you but having visited similar places their prices have been higher so it was nice to see a little bit more affordable food!
Review: Drayton Manor Theme Park & Thomas Land The Oliver\\\'s Madhouse Thomas Land was not the only place my toddler loved!! … he loved the 4D Cinema, Splash Canon, Drunken Barrels, The Amusements and the Merry Go Round was a total hit after 4 rides! (even Hubby joined on the last one, although he likes to remind me that he sat on a chicken not a horse!)

The girls being far braver than I or even hubby they tackled some corking rides including Maelstrom, G-Force, Apocalypse and even Storm Force 10! … I think they are nutters!
Review: Drayton Manor Theme Park & Thomas Land The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseEven with rain intermittently throughout the day we had an amazing time and we are currently considering the annual passes!

We have not totally fallen for the charms of Drayton Manor and my little man is totally obsessed with Thomas Land!

Have been to Drayton Manor many times with my daughters. I love the fact that it’s quite compact & you don’t get exhausted from walking long distances between the amusements. Happy to hear you had a fabulous time x

We went as a family when my nephew was 3 years old. He still talks about the day out despite being 7! Great place – just wish we lived closer.

We went last year, the little lady was absolutely besotted by Rosie and we went on her several times. I think it is a great park as it is perfect for younger and older alike. There is plenty of space to have picnic’s too. So glad you had a fab time.

What a fab day and its always nice to see that there is reasonably priced food. It’s such a nightmare having to lug a picnic around with you. It looks an awesome day out and its good that all ages seem to enjoy it. #magicmoments

We’ve been twice now with Monkey and he loved it, although last year the vintage car ride was closed whilst they installed a new ride and he was gutted. Must sort out a date for a visit this year before the holidays start.

Looks like such a fun day out Jaime! Although I have a feeling it may be a bit of a long way to go for us (somewhere in the Midlands?). We do have the Watercress Steam Railway line near us though where they do the occasional Thomas themed day so JJ might get his Thomas fix like that! X

Many many years ago (too many to count) I went to what was then Drayton Manor Park and Zoo. Looks like things have REALLY changed since then! Glad you had fun but I have to admit theme parks are not my cup of tea (I can feel sick on a carousel) so when the boys nag me to take them to our local Theme Park (named somewhat unattractively – FestyLand) I keep 2 feet firmly on the ground and allow them all the fun (?) of the rides!
