This year when boxing day came so did the snow, although not quite in time for a white Christmas it was certainly close enough!
For several hours on Boxing Day afternoon/evening the sky was full and the flakes that fell were the size of dinner plates, so delicate but yet so menacing with their size .. the sky turned orange.
In the morning the first to christen the blanket of white with crumpled footprints was not the toddler as I expected it to be, but infact the teen! .. wanting to Christen her new snow boots … although it seems no matter what the weather she seems to avoid coat wearing … although before spending the afternoon in it I did brow beat her into wearing one!
Next to take the garden by storm … although due to a Christmas present obsession he was a day late to the party was the toddler!
With a bucket, spade and a just as excitable Dad in tow he covered every inch of the garden and not always on his feet … with a need to travel in the snow on his bottom he sat in numerous locations in the garden … although I am not quite sure why he would want to …. Bottom prints do not give the same pretty pattern as snow angels…. what they do give you however is wet trousers and even wetter pants!
The snow only lasted this time for a few days, but with snow and sunshine followed closely behind with minus temperatures it soon became black ice making it dangerous underfoot to go out in unless necessary, which obviously put pay to anymore snow shenanigans it was nice while it lasted… but after the black ice I am just thankful we are all in one piece and I am now looking forward to some long family walks and spring time!
I am so jealous of your snow. Both mine have snowsuits and a lack of snow to wear them in lol.

Glad you got to have some snow fun, Monkey cried when he opened the curtains Christmas morning and it hadn’t snowed. I wish it would go as quickly as it comes so the roads aren’t so treacherous. Glad you are all safe!

Wow, it looks like a magical land in your garden with all that snow. I want some of the snow magic to come down to Cornwall and get my teens out and about first, it would be a miracle! What an odd thing to want to do, bum prints, that’s little ones for you though, they come out with the weirdest of things. Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.

We had snow too, and just as I was going out, it soon turned to rain though and was all gone by bedtime. I’m glad you got the chance to enjoy it, I do love the snow (providing I don’t have to drive anywhere!)

Snow is so magical and being the first person to walk in it is such a treat 🙂 Lovely pics of your son, so bright against the white. I fell over a few times on the ice and did not dare go out for a couple of days after that.
I can’t believe how much snow you had! I must say although the Little A’s were jealous of all the snow everyone else was having, I was quite relieved to get away without any! Happy New Year to you all!
