For me the spring clean up was the highlight of my cleaning calendar. Getting everything on the to do list done and everything in its place.
However as my family has grown and space becomes a premium these days I tend to have an Autumn clean too.
Once school starts back and the sun decides to start hiding for larger chunks of the day I feel a rather dramatic urge to start getting things packed down for the long normally wet winter.
This year I have felt that urge much earlier with so many jobs left outstanding from the summer and our camping adventures. The garden has been neglected and needs some real TLC not to mention another grass cut and some old battered toys chucking out. However after tackling the wardrobes in the last week and ousting out the clothing in everyones wardrobes that no longer fits and giving all the storage a clean out and I am now desperate to get my hall stairs and landing finally finished (this was started when we had the new boiler installed last spring!)
I also have the kitchen to redecorate after an issue earlier in the year where my shower in the bathroom above developed a leak as it left some major marks on the ceiling, oh and i have some odd jobs round the bathroom too, getting some new lino put down and the bath and shower need resealing.
Please tell me that I am not alone on the major Autumn clean up?
My sister does the Autumn clean up too, getting rid of small clothes and various things that are not useful anymore. She has a small child and I can understand why she does it but I am not there yet so don’t really do it although I know I should get rid of some of the stuff which I don’t use anymore. I think when you have children you are more inclined to sort things out and do the things that need to be done without procrastination.
