The Much Awaited School News

The Much Awaited School News The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseLast week finally we got the news we had been waiting for since before Christmas

Primary School places!

Since filling in the online form back in November and feeling emotionally drained and upset, my anxiousness over Joshua’s September school places has been playing on my mind and in the last week I have felt physical sickness while awaiting news of what would be one of the biggest milestones of my little guys school journey.

When we started thinking about which School Joshua would attend and having 2 choices within our village there was only one clear option for us. Out of the 2 schools on offer there was only one that was from 4-11 as the other meant Joshua would change halfway through to a school that Beth went to when we moved to the village and we hated it from the word go.

With only one school on our radar it meant that when it came to filling in the form back in November with the 3 possible schools our only option was to put in the school we wanted followed by 2 further schools out of the catchment area and at other villages as we were wanting a CofE place but since we had not got Joshua christened we could not be considered on the church pathway to get into a CofE school.

Knowing that last year the first year intake had a high percentage of siblings we were feeling more than anxious about actually getting him a place.

However at 12.22am I logged onto the online admissions  and got this:

The Much Awaited School News The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseSo with a lot of tears and even a happy dance from my Husband … I can confirm that we were one of the very lucky parents that secured our first choice of school for Joshua and it left use utterly thrilled and excited about the next stage of our little guys learning.

If you were waiting for news last week … Did you get the news you were hoping for?

First of all, congrats on the school place. It is incredibly stressful isn’t it? Can’t beleive we’ll be going through it again in a couple of years.

Anyway, thanks for hosting! It’s taken a few weeks since meeting you but at long last I’m here. I have a hectic couple of days ahead so will comment on other posts later in the week but promise I will!

Glad you got what you wanted. We are wanting to move, but cant risk the boys not being in the same school. Even in catchment doesn’t guarentee a place round here it is really bad x

That’s great news – a big weight off your mind. We’re in between years and don’t have to worry about it until next year, but Kara will end up going to the same in-catchment school that her brothers are currently at, which thankfully removes a whole world of stress from us.

Such great news on the school Jaime, really chuffed Joshua got the place you wanted for him. You can sit back and relax now! We don’t know where POD is going yet – will be a stressful few weeks no doubt trying to find somewhere for her. Unless we are up there on the waiting list for the only school we can walk to from home. Keep everything crossed!

This is a long way off for us, but hearing about everyone’s stress with school places, I can honestly say I am really not looking forward to it!
