Whitby – Our Hidden Gem

Whitby - Our Hidden Gem The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseWe are feeling the urge .. the urge for fish and chips and some fresh sea air.

In all the time Ollie and I have been together I think this is the longest  time away from Whitby we have ever had. We can often found there at Bank Holidays  along with several weeks in the year if we can!

As small children we were independently introduced to the area and I personally remember many Whitby holidays and although my Mum may want to ground me for saying this (Phew I am too old) I do remember the time in the caravan on the cliff top with the most horrific wind (which obviously we don’t remember) although what I do remember is waking up to find my Mum our dog on the floor in the morning!

Since getting together this really has been our special place, the place where we took refuge after finding out we were expecting Joshua and using the fresh air and time to get our heads round the fact we were going to be parents together on a special stone that we still look for and try to sit on every time we get there.

We have also been lucky enough to get to go every few months while I was pregnant and ever since. Joshua’s first trip was at the tender age of 4 weeks old when we spent a whole week there and got to sit on our stone.

In 2012 we even eloped to Whitby to marry with just our Children. It was the most beautiful day, no pressure and no stress just us becoming Mr and Mrs with the stunning views and some fish and chips….. just perfect.

Not matter come rain or shine this is our special place that the highs and the lows the Oliver’s come across are talked through, laughed and lived in this beautiful location.

Some of our most special memories have been made here and hopefully many more to come. I am not sure what it is about this place that makes us feel so at home but the moment we are out the car we are really are home.
