Kick-Start Your Weight Loss Journey In Six Easy Steps

Kick-Start Your Weight Loss Journey In Six Easy Steps The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseIf you’ve made the decision to start losing weight, now is the time to begin your journey to hit your goal. It’s much easier to decide to start your journey than it is to actually get started. It’s best to hit the ground running while your motivation is high, you’re much more likely to succeed if you start now rather than setting a date in the future.

Let’s have a look a how you can kick-start your diet in six easy steps:

Make Sure You Eat Breakfast

Some people believe that they can strip weight by skipping breakfast when actually, quite the opposite is true. Breakfast is the meal that kick starts your metabolism for the day ahead. If you pass on breakfast then your body is working at a slower pace. People who are using a shake diet, normally find it fairly easy to have breakfast as you are even able to have your breakfast on the go. If you start your day with a decent well-balanced breakfast you are also less likely to overindulge at other meals. You should try to include high-fibres, protein and fruit.

Drink Plenty Of Water

Most people don’t drink enough fluids during the day. Water has no calories so it’s definitely not something you should be avoiding, it keeps you in good health and can make you feel full when you’re hungry.

Other drinks like juice, special coffees and alcohol all contain hidden calories so replacing them with more water can help you to cut down on calories you don’t need. Try to drink one cup of water with every snack and meal.

Always Opt For Wholegrain

Whenever possible you should be opting for whole-grain, low sugar choices instead of highly processed foods made with refined sugar and white flour. You will not only naturally consume fewer calories but you’re also providing your body with more nutrients while helping to prevent diseases like heart disease and other health problems.

Be Active For Ten Minutes Extra

When losing weight people tend to get bogged down and think that they suddenly have to become addicted to the gym, and attend every day.

Kick-Start Your Weight Loss Journey In Six Easy Steps The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThis is definitely not the case. Adding just ten minutes extra of activity will get you well on your way to losing weight and reducing other health risks. Not only this, exercise is brilliant for boosting your metabolism. Keep in mind though that the increased activity isn’t going to work if you’re using it as an excuse to eat an extra piece of cake.

Think About Your Motivation

Write down all your reasons for losing weight, and why you want to achieve it. Not why you think you should, or because the doctor recommends it. Perhaps you want to have more energy, be able to fit into skinnier jeans, or maybe reduce your risk of diabetes. Then when you want to skip an exercise class or eat a huge bag of crisps you can pull it out and remind yourself of your goals. If you feel as though you’re losing your motivation or feel as though you’re going to fall off the wagon try speaking to friends or family for support, and maybe exercise with a partner who shares similar goals.

Start Now Not Later

The new year is certainly a popular time of the year for weight loss goals, it’s one of the most common new year’s resolutions. However, it won’t be long before new priorities are grabbing for your focus as the year progresses. This is when it becomes extremely tempting to put off weight loss plans until the timing seems better. It’s always after Christmas, in the new, after the weekend away. The truth is that there is no time like the present so you shouldn’t wait. Even making small changes doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy trips away or special holidays. As long as you have a well thought out plan, there is nothing standing in your way and that means the right time to start is now not later.

These six easy steps should help you to kick-start your diet. Remember there’s no time like the present, even losing ten percent of your body mass when you’re overweight can benefit your health. So, don’t wait for the holiday season to be over and for the new year, start your new lifestyle now. Do you have any other tips for kickstarting a weight loss journey?
